Pyrostone makes doors fire-resistant
Pyrostone is a patented product (patented under the Dutch patent number NL-1032436) used as a fire resistant material in the door industry. Both interior doors and exterior doors can be made into fire resistant doors with Pyrostone. The product is applied to wooden slats and makes doors highly fire resistant thanks to its unique characteristics.
Pyrostone holds its shape extremely well and even at high temperatures maintains its stability, stiffness, flame retardance and fire-resistance. It is non-reactive when hardened and can be transported without causing harm to the environment. A high degree of moisture resistance, adherence and screw fixation strength make the characteristics for Pyrostone complete. In short: the ideal material for every type of fire resistant door construction!
Pyrostone is a FRP (Fibre Reinforced Plastic). The product consists of mineral fibres in a thermosetting polymer (epoxy) with an SG of approximately 1.1 kg/dm3. It is applied to the wood in a double component system and hardens fully within 12 hours.
